JOOR Buyer Profile: Meet Laurie Moulton, Owner of House of Lolo Portland, OR
1. Who is your fashion muse?I absolutely adore the classic sophistication of Coco Chanel blended with the dramatic femininity of more modern designers like Valentino.  I am obsessed with finding very feminine vintage-inspired silhouette’s with a modern twist and styling them with an edgy or unexpected handbag or shoe.
2. What’s something unique that you do for House of Lolo customers?House of Lolo offers individual styling consultations to every client.  We cater to the busy professional and/or busy mom who has no time to think about pulling a look together.  When she comes into the store, our stylists have looks pulled together for them based on their personality and shape.
3. What should everyone know about Portland, Oregon? Most people don’t think of Portland as a “fashion hub”, however it is quickly becoming known for its emerging fashion designers and fabulous boutiques. Portland is also known for its wildly successful tech start-ups, the powerful presence of industry giants like Intel, Nike, and Wyden & Kennedy and of course it’s quirkiness, as portrayed in the show Portlandia. JOOR Buyer Profile: Meet Grace Wang, Owner of Helianthus NYC

1. Girls flock to your store for jewelry! What do you look for when you’re filling your cases?
When it comes to picking jewelry, I like styles that are loud but not over the top. I am always looking at new designers that are unique and fun!

2. What trend are you most excited about for 2012?
Lace and color. There’s a lot of pleating going on for Spring which looks amazing when done right. We’re going to have a lot more texture and fabrication featured in the Helianthus Spring 2012 collection. Really cute tops and dresses coming soon!

3. What inspired you to open your own boutique?
I like to be in charge and multitask - when you have your own store you basically have to do EVERYTHING. I have to be the buyer, the sales person, the accountant. It’s hard and tiring but its your own business so its all worth it.

Helianthus caters to a trendy, fashion forward clientele and features brands like CC Skye, Parker, Mason, Plush, Sashi, Gorjana, Torn by Ronny Kobo, Jeffrey Campell, and Wildfox.
